Rita Organ

Director of Project Management

Rita brings over 20 years of experience in museum curation, exhibit and project development, acquisition of artifacts, program planning, and budget management to the Solid Light team. As the Director of Project Management, she leads the development, organization, and management of the Project Management Team and serves as Project  Manager on key projects critical to the company’s success.

Rita’s notable career in museum and cultural institutions began at the Smithsonian and has taken her to key positions at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis and The Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit. She also served as a consultant identifying artifacts for the permanent collection for the new National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) in Washington, DC. Rita’s  knowledge of exhibits, collections, and architectural coordination was  fully leveraged most recently for The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center in Cincinnati.

Rita brings to our team a strong understanding of exhibit development  and has an innate ability to effectively communicate and work with  visual artists, exhibit and graphic designers, photographers, and filmmakers to create meaningful experiences. She is a graduate of the Getty Leadership Institute and Past President of the Association of African American Museums (AAAM).
