Cynthia’s expertise in storytelling paired with her deep knowledge of branding, exhibit design, and fabrication has helped Solid Light make an indelible mark on the experience design industry—one that has provided institutions new and exciting ways to engage and educate visitors.
After founding Solid Light over 21 years ago in an attic studio, she has strategically developed it into a full-service company with design, media, and fabrication studios operating out of a 55,000 square foot facility. Her reputation in the industry and her community has attracted a team of highly skilled and versatile creatives that consistently produce award-winning, one-of-a-kind experiences for museums, corporations, nonprofits, government entities, universities, and visitor centers.
Her impressive 35+ year career has firmly established her as a respected leader, innovator, and connector; actively involved in supporting and promoting the field through regional sponsorships of SEMC and AMM, along with national level involvement for AAAM, and AAM as well as service on the boards of the Kentucky Historical Society and the National Association of Museum Exhibition (NAME). Indiana University recently announced that Cynthia will be receiving the honorary degree of Doctorate of Humane Letters once a live ceremony can be held.
