For anyone who didn't attend the Falls of the Ohio's annual fundraiser "Rock the Rocks" a couple weeks ago, get to the museum soon and see the updates Solid Light and the Falls have made in the center's rotunda, in particular Brooke White's gorgeous new overhead glass sculpture. It's all part of the $5.5 million renovation of exhibits that are still in progress, and we're excited that years of development are finally being realized!
This week, the Courier-Journal ran an article about the updated rotunda and the positive reactions the Falls of the Ohio is already enjoying.

The piece focuses on Cynthia's passion for multimedia exhibit design and talks about Solid Light's past projects for the Carnegie Center for Art and History and the Elizabeth Cady Stanton Trust, as well as the upcoming redesign of exhibits at the Falls of the Ohio Interpretive Center.

Cynthia and Angie just got back from a very successful showing at the Association of Midwest Museums (AMM) Annual Meeting in Chicago. A big thanks to Gary Johnson, David Mosena, and the Program Committee for putting together such a productive, insightful conference.
We’d also like to thank everyone who stopped by the Solid Light booth. We loved chatting with all of you and will definitely be keeping in touch. We hope to see everyone at the next conference!

Soon after the McConnell-Chao Archives exhibit opened at the University of Louisville in 2010, Solid Light was awarded four Telly Awards for the exhibit’s two films: Leading with Distinction, which chronicles U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell’s rise to the highest level of legislative government; and Promise of America, a look at Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao and her family’s struggle through strife in China to freedom and opportunity in the United States.
The Telly Awards honor the very best local, regional, and cable television commercials and programs, as well as the finest video and film productions, and work created for the Web. Since 1978, the Telly Awards have strengthened the visual arts community by inspiring, promoting, and supporting creativity.
The Horse in Kentucky, a short promotional film produced by Solid Light for the Kentucky Museum at Western Kentucky University, features notable horse enthusiasts sharing their favorite breeds, their personal experiences, and most importantly—when and how they first fell in love with horses.
The trailer, which premiered at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games, also promotes an exhibit project currently in development that will answer the question, “Why is Kentucky the Horse Capital of the World?” as well as recount the personal narratives of Kentuckians past and present who have worked closely with horses, highlighting the bond that forms between horse and master.
This is the first Telly Solid Light has won for work done at WKU’s Kentucky Museum. We won previous Tellys for our work on two films, Leading with Distinction and Promise of America, which can be viewed in the McConnell-Chao Archives exhibit at the University of Louisville.
